Do you need help with tree felling?

We offer free assistance with tree felling to prevent unnecessary damage, either by supporting your hired tree feller or independently. The tree feller covers any damage costs.

  1. When planning to fell trees, first contact a forest worker and order the felling service.
  2. If the forest worker assesses that the work cannot be performed safely due to our power lines, please contact us on 06 324 5700.
  3. Mark the trees to be felled on your property clearly so that we can assess the situation even if you are not present.
  4. Ensure that no trees that could fall during a storm are left close to power lines.

If you need our assistance with tree felling, please contact us at least three working days before you require help. We will assist you on weekdays during working hours.

The trunks and branches remain the property of the landowner, and cleaning up is also the responsibility of the landowner.

Trees leaning on or nearly falling onto a power line

If a tree is leaning on or about to fall onto a power line, please make a fault report immediately.

Do not touch the tree or the wires. Instead, leave the area by jumping with your feet together and make sure that no outsiders can access the area.

Keep at least a 20-meter distance to a tree that has fallen on a power line.

We will always remove such trees, as they can pose a danger to life.
